Entry 1: Natalie Sings and Tells Her Story

A few weeks ago I got the chance to visit with 1 of the Gulf Port 7, my friend, Natalie Atwater.  Natalie was arrested with the rest of us back in December, it had been her second Occupy related arrest, the first being back at City Hall defending the removal of our food table.   On this warm summer night in May I spoke with Natalie about her experiences with Occupy, her recollection of the Port arrest, the ensuing court debacle and her thoughts about moving forward in activism.  Later, she performs a song she wrote during the opening weeks of Occupy Austin.

*All of the Journal Entry edits are rough and will be edited down for the documentary.
